Virtual Trade Fair Light&Building 2020
LEDVANCE reacts at short notice to the postponement of the leading trade fair Light+Building 2020 in Frankfurt with a virtual trade fair presence. Studio Bachmannkern, commissioned with the real trade fair design, realise a virtual version of the planned stand concept within only five days.
The goal is to continue communicating with customers worldwide despite event cancellations and travel restrictions and to present the new products. LEDVANCE chooses to create a “digital twin” of the planned trade fair stand.
A team of five designers and architects collaborates with programmers to adapt the 3D data for the virtual and interactive version. A particular challenge is the realistic representation of the numerous products, each provided with detailed information and integrated media.
Ideally, digital twins are considered during planning and design to fully exploit the possibilities of the virtual world.
